Policy & Government Relations

CDOT conducts outreach efforts on behalf of the Transportation Commission with elected officials at the federal, state, and local government levels.

Specifically, strategic and analytical support is provided to the Executive Director, Executive Management Team, and Transportation Commission in both transportation policy development and government relations.  Resources are also available to elected officials and other external partners to assist in explaining and understanding complex transportation financing, planning, and engineering practices.

New Executive Order to Enhance the Relationship between State and Local Government

Governor Hickenlooper recently issued an Executive Order directing state agencies to take specific steps to enhance relations with local government.  As part of the process, CDOT developed a policy and procedural directive that focus on the goals of the Executive Order.
