This site is designed to provide information about rules and obtaining permits for moving extra-legal vehicles and loads through Colorado. Extra Legal Vehicles are those vehicles exceeding size and weight restrictions on Colorado Highways and Interstates. Please Note: Chain Law in effect - September 1, 2010 - May 31, 2011.Commercial vehicles operating on I-70 in either direction between mileposts 133 (Dotsero) and 259 (Morrison) must carry sufficient chains at all times to be in compliance with the Colorado chain law.
OSOW Permit Surcharge, effective July 1, 2009 Single Trip and Special Transport
Permits that are issued on July 1, 2009 or later will be assessed a
surcharge equal to the amount of the permit fee pursuant to the passage
of Senate Bill 09-108. Important Reminder:
