US 34 Business Bypass Reconstruction Project Begins Today in Greeley

May 28, 2013 - UPCOMING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT - Project scheduled for July 2013 completion.

WELD COUNTY — The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has started a reconstruction project on the US 34 Business bypass in Greeley. Work will take place along a half mile stretch of US 34 Business from mile marker (MM) 11.057 to MM 11.632, which is roughly from 8th Avenue to the US 85 bypass.

“By investing in this section of highway infrastructure, we can create a smoother, safer ride for motorists,” said CDOT Project Engineer Nicki Upright. “Additionally, crews will install warning surfaces and disability ramps to create a safer roadway for pedestrians, and will upgrade curbs and gutters to improve drainage in the area for years to come.”

Work will take place Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is expected to finish in July 2013. Parking will be affected at various times along 18th Street from 8th Avenue to US 85, so motorists are encouraged to pay close attention to the “No Parking” signs posted during construction.

Members of the public can contact the public information phone line or email for more information about specific area impacts. The phone line for the project is 970-373-3374, and email is us34greeley@publicinfoteam.com.

Martin Marietta Materials is the contractor for this $479,000 project.
