US 40 Concrete Reconstruction to Resume Next Week

September 2, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - STEAMBOAT SPRINGS –The Colorado Department of Transportation and Scott Contracting, Inc., expect to begin work Tuesday, Sept. 7 on the final phase of the U.S. 40 Reconstruction Project that began last fall.

August 27, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - PITKIN COUNTY – Colorado Department of Transportation bridge crews will be inspecting the bridge at Castle Creek and two bridges at Shale Bluffs (SH 82 just northwest of Aspen) next Wednesday.

August 25, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - (NO WORK OVER LABOR DAY HOLIDAY) - ROUTT/GRAND COUNTIES – The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor United Companies resume a project Saturday, August 28, to resurface and make safety improvements (guardrail) to several sections of US 40 and SH 131. The project was contracted to United for $1.2 million.

August 9, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - EAGLE COUNTY - American Civil Constructors, Inc. (ACC), contractor for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) on the Edwards Interchange project, will be closing Berry Creek Road at Beard Creek on August 13 for 21 days while constructing the Berry Creek/Beard Creek roundabout.

July 30, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3 - JACKSON COUNTY – The Colorado Department of Transportation and Contractor Lafarge North America, Inc., will begin a project on Monday, August 2 (weather permitting) to resurface and make other improvements to SH 14 from Muddy Pass east (milepost 0, at the junction with US 40, east to MP 23).

June 30, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3- Due to high traffic (this stretch sees more than 35,000 vehicles a day during the summer months) and a single-lane closure, delays for eastbound traffic approaching Glenwood Springs were lengthy today; a stalled RV was towed from the work zone, also adding to the delays.

June 29, 2010 - Northwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 3- WESTERN SLOPE – The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has replaced electronic Variable Message Signs (VMS), in various areas in western Colorado. The project, conducted by CDOT’s ITS Division (Intelligent Transportation Systems,) has upgraded the VMS boards, as well as corresponding electrical systems.
