CDOT to Make Environmental Improvements to US 160 Bridge at Santa Rita

August 31, 2010 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DURANGO – Starting tomorrow, September 1, and lasting through mid-October, the Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor Alert Traffic Control of Bayfield will make improvements to mitigate future scouring of the US 160 bridge at Santa Rita.

Resurfacing underway on US 160 west of Fort Garland

August 31, 2010 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - ALAMOSA/COSTILLA COUNTIES – The Colorado Department of Transportation and contractor APC Southern Construction Company are resurfacing an 18-mile section of US 160 west of Fort Garland (and east of Alamosa). The work was contracted to APC for $4.8 million.

May 10, 2010 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DENVER, COLORADO - The leaders of a $2.05 million Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Region 5 project that resurfaced 14 miles of U.S. 160 from Alamosa east received a 2010 Colorado Contractors Association (CCA) and CDOT Project Management Award during presentations in Alamosa on May 7.

April 28, 2010 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - DENVER, COLORADO - The leaders of a $9.1 million American Recovery & Reinvestment Act Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) project that resurfaced 22 miles of SH 62 over Dallas Divide, plus three miles of U.S. 550, received a 2010 Colorado Contractors Association (CCA) and CDOT Project Management Award during presentations in Grand Junction on April 23.

American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Funds Accelerate Safety Improvements to US 160 in La Plata County

March 23, 2010 - Southwestern Colorado/CDOT Region 5 - The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun another project funded by the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) in La Plata County. This approximately $9 million project- which receives $4 million in ARRA funding- will relocate and improve the intersection of US 160 and La Plata County roads 222/223, east of Durango. Initial work underway includes relocation of utilities and roadside clearing in preparation for construction. Contractor Four Corners Materials of Durango has set a completion date of May 26, 2011.
