Sponsor a Highway

CDOT has an ongoing problem with litter control along certain high-volume highways in Colorado. We also have a growing concern for the continued safety of any persons performing services along the Colorado highway rights-of-way. Consequently, we have been reluctant to allow any group, club or association to remove litter from high traffic volume areas. Therefore, we have entered into a community-spirited ventures allowing professional prime contractors to remove litter in exchange for an installed community service recognition sign displaying a sponsor's logo. The Sponsor a Highway program offers another way for private citizens, businesses, organizations, non-profit groups and corporations to CLEAN COLORADO. Such ventures generate sufficient revenue from the civic minded corporations for the prime contractor to fund the removal of the litter either directly, by use of its own employees, or indirectly, by use of a subcontractor. Best of all, this program cost the traveling public nothing. No State funds are expended to generate these great litter removal services. This program is fully funded by civic-minded individuals, businesses, groups and corporations. CDOT has opted to package litter-control services for an identified set of high-profile highway segments, ramps, pedestrian and bicycle facilities , totaling approximately 383 miles of highway. We invite your business, group or corporation to participate in this community service program! Help us CLEAN COLORADO!
