Air Quality

Our mission is to improve air quality by ensuring that all CDOT projects and operations comply with federal, state, and local air quality laws and regulations, and by promoting strategies which reduce emissions of motor vehicle pollutants. In order to ensure legal compliance, CDOT evaluates the air quality impacts of its transportation projects to determine if the project will cause or contribute to a violation of National Ambient Air Quality Standards.

Interested in Electric Vehicles?

CDOT is a partner in Project FEVER- Fostering Electric Vehicle Expansion in the Rockies. The objective of this project is to create a community based electric vehicle infrastructure readiness plan and implement activities in anticipation of larger electric vehicle deployment efforts in the future.

The Electric Ride is the public education and outreach portion of this program. This interactive website is a portal of information that will help drivers get ready, get set, and go with electric vehicles as we work towards an electrified transportation future.

NEW! Help Reduce Vehicle Idling Pollution and Save Gas with Engines Off! Colorado

CDOT is collaborating with the US EPA, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, Denver Department of Environmental Health, American Lung Association of Colorado, and many others to lower the amount of engine idling pollution and wasted fuel through a program called Engines Off! Colorado.
