South Boulder Creek Trail Closure November 17th-February 1st

The South Boulder Creek Trail will be closed on either side of US 36 during construction of the
US 36 Express Lanes Project. The trail between South Boulder Road and Marshall Road will
remain open, however, for the safety of the traveling public, access under US 36 will not be
allowed. This closure is necessary for the improvements being made to the South Boulder Creek
bridge.

Coal Creek Trail Closure June 2014 - September 2015

The Coal Creek Trail is closed between Dillon Road and McCaslin Boulevard through fall 2015, while crews construct a new concrete box culvert. Once the culvert is complete, the existing trail will be reestablished through the western portion of the culvert and reopened to the public. The detour utilizing Dillon Road, 88th Street, South Rock Creek Parkway, and McCaslin Boulevard will keep bicyclists safely outside of the construction zone. US 36 Traffic Impacts for the Week of December 21, 2014

In observance of the upcoming holiday, there will be no work on the US 36 Express Lanes Project Dec. 24 after noon and all day Dec. 25. Work will resume at 5:30 a.m., Friday, Dec. 26.

The westbound US 36 & East Flatiron RTD bus stop will reopen on at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23. RTD passengers will be directed to load at the top of the stairs at the newly constructed loading area.

Federal to Church Ranch Boulevard

Various On-Ramp Restrictions

The following on-ramps will have daytime single lane and shoulder restrictions for overhead sign installation, Dec. 22 and 23, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.:

  • Federal Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36
  • Sheridan Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36
  • Church Ranch Boulevard on-ramp to eastbound US 36
  • Northbound Wadsworth Parkway on-ramp to westbound US 36
  • Wadsworth Parkway on-ramp to eastbound US 36
  • Interlocken Loop on-ramp to eastbound US 36

One lane will remain open on all ramps during these times.

Westbound US 36 Single Lane Restrictions

Westbound US 36 will have single lane restrictions from Federal to Sheridan Boulevard, Dec. 22, 23 and 26, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for truck access in and out of the construction zone. One lane will remain open at all times.

Westbound US 36 to Church Ranch Boulevard Ramp Restrictions

The westbound US 36 off-ramp to Church Ranch Boulevard and the Church Ranch Boulevard on-ramp to westbound US 36 will continue to have single lane restrictions with flaggers, Dec. 22 and 23, and 26 and 27, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., for ramp construction. One lane will remain open at all times. RTD operations will not be impacted.

Wadsworth Parkway to 88th Street

US 36 Single Lane Restrictions

Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions, Dec. 22 and 23, and 26 and 27, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., from 88th Street to Church Ranch Boulevard. These lane restrictions are necessary for dirt and concrete hauling, paving, and barrier removal and placement.

88th Street to Foothills Parkway

US 36 Single Lane Restrictions

Eastbound and westbound US 36 will have nightly single lane restrictions as needed from the 88th Street bridge to Foothills Parkway, Dec. 22, 23 and 26, 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for traffic realignment and roadway maintenance activities.

McCaslin Boulevard and Ramp Restrictions

The McCaslin interchange, including ramps, and McCaslin Boulevard between Dillon and Marshall Road, will have various intermittent lane restrictions, Dec. 22, 23 and 26, 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.-5:30 a.m., for concrete paving, signal installation and roadway grading. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. RTD operations will not be impacted.

Local Street Restrictions and Ongoing Closures

Sheridan Boulevard Single Lane Restrictions – Northbound and southbound Sheridan Boulevard will have single lane restrictions from 92nd to 88th Avenue, Dec. 22 and 23, 8 p.m.-5:30 a.m., to complete the tie in to the new on and off ramps.

South Boulder Creek Trail Closure – The South Boulder Creek Trail will be closed on either side of US 36 until February 2015. The trail between South Boulder Road and Marshall Road will remain open, however, for the safety of the traveling public, access under US 36 will not be allowed. This closure is necessary for the improvements being made to the South Boulder Creek bridge.

Upcoming Closures

Southbound McCaslin Boulevard to Eastbound US 36 Loop Ramp Closure – The existing loop ramp from southbound McCaslin Boulevard to eastbound US 36 will close permanently in January 2015. This closure is necessary to construct the new eastbound US 36 dedicated RTD bus ramp, which will mirror the nearly completed ramp on the westbound side. Prior to the loop ramp closure, the new southbound McCaslin Boulevard to eastbound US 36 on-ramp will be completed, and traffic will be directed to the new ramp for access to eastbound US 36. During this phase of construction, traffic will yield at a temporary light to make a left turn onto the eastbound ramp.
