Previous Projects

Park Avenue in Breckenridge

Project Description
This project is the first construction project to get underway following the SH 9 Record of Decision. The project limits are from the intersection of South Park Avenue and Main Street on the south side of Breckenridge to the intersection of SH 9 and Valley Brook Street on the north.

The project includes a realignment of the South Park Avenue and Main Street intersection, a roundabout at the intersection of North Park Avenue and SH 9, a new bridge over the Blue River, a traffic signal at the intersection of Coyne Valley Road and SH 9, and reconstruction of SH 9 between North Park Avenue and Valley Brook Street to a four-lane raised median roadway section with curb and gutter and storm sewer. This project will reroute SH 9 traffic to Park Avenue within Breckenridge.

Project Schedule
The project was advertised for construction in August 2004 and awarded to the low responsible bidding contractor, Duckels Construction. Construction began with the installation of the traffic signal at the Coyne Valley Road intersection with SH 9 and the realignment of the South Park Avenue and Main Street intersection in Fall 2004 and Spring 2005. The roundabout construction and SH 9 reconstruction continued through the 2005 construction season. The contractor completed the project in August 2006.
