CONSTRUCTION UPDATESUS 40 Steamboat

Project is suspended for the winter months. Work will resume as weather permits, following a public meeting that will be held on March 25th at 5:30 p.m. at Centennial Hall. Thank you for checking our web site.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

The speed limit will be reduced to 20 MPH through the project work zone, where traffic will be stopped periodically for construction traffic, and reduced to one-lane in each direction at times. Travel delays of 10 minutes may be encountered in these work zones .  Businesses will remain open for the duration of the project, with alternate off-street parking on side streets and surrounding lots.

Slow for the cone zone logo Caution:

Speeds have been excessively over the 20 mph limit in the work zone since this project started. For the safety of the workers, pedestrians and other motorists, please follow posted speed limits. Enforcement could arrive at any time. Thank you to those who consciously go "slow in the zone".

Public Meeting

We're gearing up to restart the US40 Concrete Paving Project in Old Town Steamboat Springs on Monday, April 5th (weather permitting).

You are invited to attend a Public Meeting about it on Thursday, March 25th at 5:30 at Centennial Hall Rms 113/114.  We'll have a brief explanation of the work being done, and offer ways to keep yourself informed throughout the project.

Representatives of CDOT, the City, and Scott Contracting, Inc. will also be on hand to answer questions from the press and public.

We look forward to seeing you there. In the meantime, feel free to call our project hotline if you should have any questions.
