Wadsworth Boulevard Widening

In April 2014, The Colorado Department of Transportation began work on Wadsworth between 10th and Colfax to improve capacity in the area. Structures Inc. was selected as the contractor for this $10 million project. Improvements include providing three thru lanes on Wadsworth Boulevard in Lakewood. Work will also include a center median for safer operations, a new concrete box culvert to carry dry gulch and improve drainage in the area, and a ten foot wide multi-use path on both sides of the roadway.  This is the first phase of construction from the US 6 and Wadsworth Interchange Study.  The City of Lakewood is contributing significantly to the project costs. Multi-modal access to the new RTD light rail station will also be provided.

The first stretch of roadway to be completed will be from 10th Avenue to Colfax with construction from Highland to 10th to follow. This project is scheduled for completion in March 2015. Most work will be completed during daylight hours Monday-Friday with occasional weekend work.

Further construction in the area laid out in the US 6 and Wadsworth Interchange Study is awaiting funding.
