Engineering Career Path

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is responsible for a 9,156 mile highway system, including 3,714 bridges. Each year, this system handles over 26.1 billion vehicle miles of travel. To assist in this effort, CDOT is looking for Engineers from entry level Engineering Assistants to Professional Engineer level.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) oversees the design, construction, and maintenance of a multi-modal transportation system. Engineering activities include design of roadways, runways and bridges, directing the work of consultants, construction project management, hydraulic and geological investigations, material design, traffic analysis, and Intelligent Transportation System integration. CDOT Engineering positions provide unique opportunities in that our engineers manage projects from its inception to finalization, including managing consultants.
