4th Street Bridge Construction Project
Traffic Impacts: September Activities:
The Loop Ramp off of eastbound 4th Street to Midtown Center will be closed April 12, 2010 through September 10, 2010. The sidewalk on the south side of the 4th Street bridge is closed. Pedestrians are directed to use the north side and are encouraged to cross 4th Street at Elizabeth Street (east) and at Elmhurst (west) for access to the north side of the 4th Street bridge. The pedestrian crossing at Elmhurst is closed to pedestrian traffic through September 20, 2010 for road construction, use Abriendo Ave.

The construction of 4th street bridge was officially awarded to Flatiron Constructors as of Oct. 18th, 2007. Flatiron Constructors had the low bid for the bridge at $27,657,855.00 for construction bid items. The total cost for CDOT to build the bridge will be $35,528,190. State Fair Advisory
CDOT is asking drivers to avoid using the 6th Street Exit from Interstate 25 to get to the State Fair, due to construction on the 4th Street Bridge (State Highway 96). Click here for more information.
