American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

Putting America To Work Image

On February 17, 2009 President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. As a result, Colorado received approximately over $533 million for transportationTransportation Jobs for America Logo projects statewide with the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) receiving approximately $386 million in federal highway funding and another $12.5 million in federal transit funding for transit projects in non-urbanized rural areas. The ARRA will also provide the additional transportation funding directly to transit agencies and the three large metropolitan planning organizations in the state (Denver Regional CouncilU.S. ARRA Logo of Governments, Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments and the North Front Range Metropolitan Planning Organization) for their prioritized projects.

Here is a complete list of ARRA projects.

Here is a list of non-competitively bid contracts.

Here is a list of ARRA savings projects.

As a requirement of ARRA, CDOT had to committ 50% of its funding to projects within 120 days.  This was accomplished in June 2009. The remaining funding must be allocated to projects within one year.

Please check back often as there are always unforeseen circumstances that may require changes to projects/project schedules. If new projects are added or projects are unable to meet schedules, it will be noted here.
